On Saturday, October 15, 2022, Albert Kenneth Jessop passed away at his home in Brooklyn Park at the age of 87. Albert, better known as Ken, was born on November 28, 1934, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Edna and Frederick Jessop. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy, achieving the rank of Ship’s Serviceman Third Class. Ken then went on to work at Kop Flex (formerly Kopper’s) until he reluctantly retired at the age of 75. He was a member of Townsend Avenue Baptist Church for many years and then most recently with Anchor Baptist in Millersville. He enjoyed hunting, crabbing, fishing and above all else, he loved spending time with his family.
Ken is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Naomi Eloise Jessop; his loving daughters, Roxanne Mills and Susan Heying; his cherished granddaughters, Kara and Julia; his beloved sister, Marie Callis; and his dear sons-in-law, Gary Mills and Douglas Heying. In addition to his parents, Ken was predeceased by his beloved siblings, Frederick Jessop, Edward Jessop, Helen Tolson, and James Jessop.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. S. W. (at Crain Hwy) on Tuesday, October 18th, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM at Anchor Baptist Church, 320 W. Pasadena Road, Millersville, Maryland 21108. Interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
