Clement L. King, Jr., 72, of Chestertown passed away on April 13, 2016. Clem was born on December 22, 1943 in Glen Burnie on Stewart Avenue. He was raised on a tobacco farm in Odenton and helped build the White Gables. He owned his first service station at the age of 17 before serving in the US Navy. Mr. King was a lifelong businessman, owning several service stations and restaurants. He also worked for the MD State Toll Authority and was a long time Liquor Board Inspector for Anne Arundel Co. Clem retired to the family farm in Chestertown eight years ago with his wife, Linda. He stayed active by gardening and caring for his beloved animals and enjoyed quality time with his family and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clement L. King, Sr. and Louise R. King; and his sister, Carol Hundley. His is survived by his beloved wife, Linda M. King; his devoted children, Radine M. Haynes and her husband, Andy; Jeighdeane M. King and Chrisdine M. King; his step children, Bryan and Eric Montz and Sarah Argumedo; his brother, Richard Wayne King. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Ania and Julia, his special little angels, Jason, Sadie, Marissa, Kaitlyn, Katie, Jackson and Amanda.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy.) on Thursday, April, 21, 2016 from 5-7 PM, with a service to follow.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Kent County Animal Shelter, Chestertown, MD.
