On March 4, 2016, Lt. Donald O. Pumphrey, who was known as "The Duke of Marley", passed away at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center after a brief illness. Mr. Pumphrey was born on July 30, 1956, to Robert and Karleen Pumphrey, in Baltimore, MD. He graduated from Severna Park High School in 1974. Donald worked for the Anne Arundel County Fire Department and spent most of his time at Station 18, in Marley, MD. He was a member of the Maryland Marksman Hunting Club and served in the Honor Guard for the A.A. County Fire Department. Donald loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his dogs, who he considered his children.
Mr. Pumphrey is survived by the love of his life and best friend, Stephanie Tischner. He is also survived by his sibling, Richard Pumphrey, Susan Pumphrey Moore, and Cynthia Pumphrey Glime, six nieces and nephews, and all his brother and sisters of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.
