Dr. Mark Schuman

Dr. Mark R. Schuman, 63, of Linthicum Heights, Maryland, passed away on May 10, 2017, after a lengthy illness. Mark was born on February 22, 1954 to Robert Irvin Schuman and Delores Schuman (nee Smith), in Baltimore, Maryland. Mark was a graduate of Andover High School, UMBC, and the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. He owned and operated his own dental practice for over fifteen years, building relationships with patients and staff that lasted well beyond his practice and into his retirement. Mark was married to his beloved and devoted wife, Barbara Schuman (nee Nickel) for 35 years. He was very proud of his German heritage and loved the music, food, and culture of the heimat (homeland). He enjoyed the simple things in life, such as a scenic car ride, concerts with his friends and family, and coffee everyone morning with his beloved friends at Starbucks, or just watching the race on a Sunday afternoon. Mark was a devoted Master Mason (Glen Burnie Lodge, #213) and member of the Linthicum Heights United Methodist Church. Mark is survived by his wife, Barbara, sons, Paul and Karl, his beloved in-laws, and numerous other loving family, friends, and patients. He was an only child and was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave, SW, (at Crain Hwy), Glen Burnie, on Monday, May 15, from 3 to 5 PM and 7 to 9 PM for a memorial gathering, a Masonic Service will be held at 7:30 PM. There will be a celebration of Mark's life at Linthicum Heights United Methodist Church, 200 School Lane Linthicum Heights, MD 21090, at 11 AM on Tuesday, May 16 at his request servies will be held in the Historic Holly Run Chapel.
