Grace W. Evans, 92, daughter of the late Hasty and Aline Truitt Waters, was born on June 17, 1921 in Snow Hill, Maryland. She peacefully departed this life on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Marley Neck Health and Rehabilitation.
Grace attended the public school in Worcester County, Maryland and Berwyn, Pennsylvania. In the 1940's, Grace came to Baltimore and was employed with the Social Security Administration, where she worked for 34 years, retiring in 1982. After retirement, she volunteered at Maryland Manor Nursing Home and the Linthicum United Methodist Church Outreach Program, starting in 1985, until she was forced to stop due to health reasons. Grace joined John Wesley in 1953 and was a Girl Scout leader and financial secretary for a number of years.
She leaves to cherish loving memories with her daughter, Carol L. Reynolds; son-in-law, John L. Reynolds; grandson, Jonathan T. Reynolds; dear family friend, Monica Davis; and a host of nieces and nephews. Four brothers: Howard K., Sherman W., Elwood L. and James C. Waters, Sr. preceded her in death.
