James Patrick Gary, 65, a lifelong resident of Glen Burnie, died September 15, 2011. He was born in Baltimore, MD on February 3, 1946 to Anne Leonora Pumphrey Gary and the late Charles Corbin "Pat" Gary. Pat graduated from Mt. Saint Joseph High School and attended the Catholic University of America in Washington and received his BA; he went on to further his education by attending George Washington University, receiving his MBA and the University of Maryland, receiving his MS. He was employed with NASA Goddard Space Flight Center for 44 years as a computer scientist and network projects leader. Pat was also the head of the networks and IT security branch. He was an active member of the St. Bernadette Catholic Church parish. Pat enjoyed his career and his family, history and geography; he was an avid reader, highly analytical and traveled the national parks, Civil War sites and historic settlements. He loved site seeing natural landmarks. He was able to fall asleep in any position in any location. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife and best friend of 46 years Amelia Edythe Stem Gary; one son, James Patrick Gary, Jr.; two daughters, Cynthia Renee Gary Huber and husband Joseph Robert Huber, Jr. and Sharon Elizabeth Gary Jones and husband Charles Thomas Jones; four grandsons, Benjamin Thomas Jones, Nicholas Andrew Jones, Bradley James Huber and Zachary Brendon Huber; and one sister, Patricia Anne Gary.
