James "Jim" M. Gillis, III, 41, of Glen Burnie passed away on January 5, 2015. Jim was born on April 24, 1973 in Baltimore. He graduated from Glen Burnie High School, served in the Navy and excelled at anything he put his hand to. He was a natural born landscape artist with a deep love and respect for our earth. He enjoyed rock climbing and hiking, was an advocate for animals and instilling positive values in children. He had a passion for raising awareness for the responsibility each of us have for being involved in our government and our country's good. He loved his family deeply and was truly present in enjoying and appreciating them individually. He was an example to us all, cleverly disguised as "Jim Jim, the Gentle Giant".
He is survived by his father, James M. Gillis, Jr. and his wife, Katherine; his mother, Terry S. Gillis and her fiancé, Butch Groom; his siblings, Trae A. Gillis and his wife, Angela, Rusty R.
