James Mccloskey, Sr

On May 1, 2017, James Edward McCloskey, Sr., passed away at the age of 89. James was born on May 18, 1927, in Baltimore, MD, and served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy at the tail end of WWII. After serving his country, he became an electrician and then Vice President of MD Pump, Tank and Electric. But his most cherished position was President of The McCloskey's Cousins Club. James enjoyed many sports to include, playing baseball and softball, golf, and bowling. And in his retirement years, he enjoyed playing cards and traveling, but most importantly to him, was being with family.
James was predeceased just six weeks ago, by his devoted wife of 69 years, Audrey M. McCloskey. He is survived by his loving children, Joan B. Kane, James E. McCloskey Jr., Gregory J. McCloskey, Dale M. McCloskey, and Jean M. Preston; his cherished grandchildren, Jennifer, Tina, Sandy, Mary, Brian, Jimmy, Michael, Elizabeth, Madeline, Matthew, Joshua, Zachary, Katie, Samantha, Alex, and Meghan; his beloved great-grandchildren, Luke, Hannah, Zoe, Owen, Benjamin, Nicholas, Jordan, Jimmy, J.J., Porter, Millie, Noa, Kia, and Eli; and his dear sister, Eileen Smith.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave, SW (at Crain Hwy), in Glen Burnie on Sunday, May 7th, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 8th, at 10 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1283 Odenton Road in Odenton. Memorial contributions in James' name may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Hwy, Pasadena, MD 21122.
