John Kuchta

December 24, 1930 — November 20, 2018

John Francis Kuchta 87, of Hanover Maryland passed away with his family by his side on November 20, 2018.

John was born in Baltimore to the late Adam and Madeline (Struck) Kuchta. He served as a Catholic altar boy as a child. John served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged. He married the former Mary Snyder on May 31st 1952. Together they enjoyed 30 years of marriage until her passing in 1982. John retired in 1997 from the U.S. Postal Service, after 38 years of faithful and dedicated service.

He loved spending time with his family and friends in Ocean City, Maryland. His other hobbies included camping, fishing, and crabbing in the Southern Maryland area. John was an outgoing person who never met a stranger. He enjoyed spending time with his siblings and visited them often. John was a member of the Son's of Italy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary Kuchta; and his longtime companion, Marlene Schlotzhauer; siblings, Rose Koch, James Kuchta, George Kuchta, Margaret Ireland, Louise Woolsoncroft, and Mary Kuchta.

He is survived by his children, John Kuchta, Donna Schwartz, Cynthia Kuchta and Terry Haycock. John left behind 7 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors at the family owned Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Highway) Glen Burnie on Monday, November 26 from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, November 27th, 10 AM, in the funeral home chapel. Entombment will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Park.
