John L. Hartge, Sr., a Baltimore native, passed away peacefully on February 4, a week after celebrating his 92nd birthday. A veteran of World War II, John served in the US Army Air Force, based in Hethel, England. After the war, he married and moved to Linthicum Heights, which became his home for most of his adult life. He was an accountant at the BandO Railroad (CSX) for over 40-years and an Amateur Radio hobbyist. His family knows John as a dedicated, loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 70-years, Muriel, his son, John, Jr., daughter, Nancy Showacre, and granddaughters, Hope Carrigan and Rebecca Buhlman.
There will be a memorial service Thursday, February 12, at noon, at St. John Lutheran Church, 300 West Maple Road, Linthicum Heights, MD.
Interment will be at another time at the Crownsville State Veterans Cemetery.
