Julie Bauer

September 19, 1962 — July 14, 2016

Julie A. Bauer, 53, a retired State of Maryland employee and longtime vocalist and performer, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2016 after a long, courageous battle with throat cancer.

The daughter of Murray and Joan Bauer, Julie was born and lived most of her life in the Baltimore area. A graduate of Glen Burnie High School, she also studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. She performed professionally in various musical groups, ranging from Rock to Doo-Wop to R&B to Jazz, as well as Theme Parks and Cruise Ships. As a member of the vocal group, Opus V, Julie had the privilege of performing abroad in Germany and Central America for military troops through the Department of Defense. She also enjoyed being cast in many local theater productions.

She was a wonderful friend to all and loved any animal she came across, especially her cats Tallulah, Eddie and Bella.

Julie is survived by her loving partner of 16 years, Ed Grandes; her parents; stepmother, Eileen Bauer; sister Wendy Bauer and her brother-in-law, Daniel Kopp.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Julie's name to a charity of your choice.
