Kenneth Eugene Burk Sr., 79, of Odenton, passed away on February 21, 2022. He was born in Fort Meade, Maryland to the late Hazel Marie and Henry Richard Burk Sr. He started his career, working at Community Fuel, Hein Brothers and O’Malley Fuel. Ken started his own business for a brief time and went on to work for Local 100, where he retired after many years of service. He enjoyed Bluegrass music, telling jokes and stories, dancing and traveling to Tennessee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandsons, Darin Paul Hendershot and Brian Paul Knight.
Ken is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Betty R. Burk; loving children, Denise Clark and her husband, Lee, Paul Knight and his wife, Patsy, Terry Knight, Kenneth E. Burk Jr. and his wife, JoAnn and Billie Jo Burk; cherished grandchildren, Bobby Hendershot Jr. (Stefi), Terry Knight Jr., Dawn Dreyer, Buddy Lynn Knight (Mike), Kenny Burk III (Kim), Melissa Knight (Leon), Paul Knight (Christina), Travis Burk and Jay Knight; 17 beloved great-grandchildren; and dear siblings, Henry Richard Burk Jr. (Judy) and Betty June Hall.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. S. W. (at Crain Hwy) on Monday, February 28th, from 4 - 8 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, 9 AM, in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
