Lynwood Gibb, Sr

Lynwood Thomas Gibb, Sr., born on December 29, 1932 (84) in Birdsnest, VA, passed away on September 26, 2017 following a fall. His loving wife of 61 years, Ruth Elizabeth Gibb and two sons, Lynwood T. Gibb, Jr. and Lawrence Edward Gibb, survive him. He also has two granddaughters, Kristen Michelle and Kayli Allyn Gibb.

Mr. Gibb graduated from Towson Sr. High School in 1951 and attended Johns Hopkins - McCoy Business College after that.

He served in the United States Army as a Code Interceptor from 1953 to 1955 in Europe; being honorably discharged at the rank of Staff Sergeant.

He also served for 8 years in various capacities (Secretary, Treasurer, Club President) in the Linthicum Lions Club.

Some of his most rewarding work was serving as a School Board member, Vice-chair, and Chair of the Friendship Adventist School in Linthicum, which he also helped to build.

He worked at Bendix Radio in Towson before and after his service in the Army. He also worked in the uniform rental/sales, home improvement, and insurance industries for many years.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. A Funeral service will be held on Monday at 10 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment Meadowridge Mem. Park.
