Marie Gardner

Marie Gardner, a longtime resident of Glen Burnie, passed away on March 1, 2017. She was born in New York City on June 12, 1927 to the late Thomas and Lena DeCarlo. In 1947, Marie met, and married, LeRoy E. Gardner, Sr. of Linthicum.
Marie was a longtime employee of the MVA until her retirement in 1991. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed taking cruises with her husband, music and singing, crocheting, playing Bingo and bocce ball, and spending time with her family. Marie was an active member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Severn, MD, serving on the Women's Club, money counters and Vacation Bible School.
Marie is survived by her children Lee Gardner (wife Cindy Marks-Gardner), Barbara Gardner (husband Phil Baker) and Thomas Gardner, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Marie was preceded in death by her loving husband LeRoy.
Visitation will be at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave, S.W. (at Crain Hwy) in Glen Burnie, on Monday, March 6, from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, March 7, at 10am in the funeral home chapel. Interment immediately thereafter at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
