Mary Johnson,90, longtime former Ferndale resident passed away on October 11, 2018.

Mary was born in Baltimore to the late Phillip and Natalie (Gomula) Yanchuk, who were Russian immigrants. She was raised in Baltimore where she attended Southern High School and worked at Enoch Pratt Library. While at Ft. Holabird she met Keith E. Johnson who she married in 1949. Through the years she worked several jobs Christos Restaurant, La Fontaine Bleue, and Degrange Lumber. She was such a great host and cook that her home was the gathering place for many extended family members. She had been a member of the Eastern Star in the past, and was a member of Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter, Natalie Skipper; and 4 siblings. She is survived by her children, Keith Johnson (Peggy), Dawn Ogle (John), Diane Benson (Jay), Melissa Schrin (Jerrry); grandchildren, Valeri, Andrea, Alexandra, Michelle, Marianne, Jamie, Jason, Joshua, Shawn, and Justin; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., in Glen Burnie, on Tuesday, Oct. 16 from 3-5 & 7-9 PM, with a Panikhida service at 8:00PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 11:30 AM at Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church 1723 E Fairmount Ave, Baltimore, MD 21231. Interment at MD Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville. Memorial Contributions can be made to Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church in her name.
