Matthew Racioppa

On August 25, 2008, Matthew Racioppa of Glen Burnie, MD. Devoted husband of Irma Racioppa. Beloved father of Patrick Racioppa and his wife Connie, and Tina Racioppa. Loving grandfather of Tim Racioppa and his wife Helena, Mindy Hivner and her husband Ron, Amy Ruhl and her husband Tim, and Stacey Walker; loving great-grandfather of 6. Dear son of the late Patrick Racioppa and Thomacine and brother of the late Ralph Racioppa and the late Mary Harrison. Matthew was born in Pennsylvania in 1924. He was a member of the United States Navy during World War II and was later recalled for the Korean War. He served six years. Matthew earned a Business Management Degree from the University of Baltimore. He was employed with the Maryland Ship Building Drydock where he was a designer. He was active in life and was a member of the Past Master Howard Lodge 101, the Past Grand High Priest, the Grand Commander of MD, the KYCH, the Order of Purple Cross at York Rite College, the Knight of York Cross of Honor, the Sojournes Master, the Scottish Rite, the Allied Degree PSM and the Knight Masons. He enjoyed many hobbies as well including woodworking.
