Mozelle Buckler

July 6, 1926 — August 9, 2020

On August 9, 2020 Ellen Mozelle Buckler (nee Bowman), departed this life at age 94.  Mozelle was born in rural southwest Virginia, to the late Ben + Sarah Bowman.  She had an older sister, Gertrue + a younger sister Inez, both now deceased.  After graduating high school at age 16, Mozelle and her family moved to Baltimore for work during WWII.  There she met and married her dear husband, “Tinky.”   She worked in a variety of jobs during the War.  In 1951, she began working for the Army Air Force Exchange Service, where during her 30 year career, she would work her way up from accounting clerk to traveling auditor.  Her work fulfilled her love of numbers, making friends, traveling and dining out.  Her husband, a homebody, fully supported her career and theirs was a marriage of equals, before that term was known.  She was a member of Woodlawn Chapter # 101 Order of the Eastern Star.  Mozelle + Tinky loved entertaining —  family dinners, crab feasts  and parties.   Her love for family, friends, neighbors + lodge brothers + their wives was unconditional. After her retirement, she + Tinky spent much time caring for and doting on their grandsons. In recent years, she reveled in her two great granddaughters.

Mozelle was predeceased in 2014, by her beloved husband of 67 years, James “Tinky” Buckler.  Mozelle is survived by her devoted daughter, Dr. Ellen Feifarek (and husband, Dr. Chris Feifarek); loving grandchildren, Craig (and his wife Mariella), and Scott; and dear great-granddaughters, Claire and Juliet.  Also, her devoted sister-in-law, Florence; her cherished cousin, Faye; adoring nieces, Sandy, Julie (Danny), Debbie (John), and Patricia; loving nephews, Johnny (Linda), Pat (Rhonda), Raymond (Dawn), and Glenn.  Also, numerous great-nieces and great-nephews as well as great-grand nieces and great-grand nephews; dear friends, Ann, MaryJane and Mary.

Due to Covid 19, services and interment will be private.  You may join the service by Zoom.   For those of you who are invited, please take your temperature prior to coming and masks are required.   If you feel in any way under the weather, please do not come.

NO FLOWERS PLEASE.    In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her memory to Itineris, 2050 Rockrose Ave., Baltimore, MD 21211.

A Celebration of Life will be held later.
