Nancy Beard

Nancy Jane Beard, 90, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Dec. 20, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.

Nancy was born to Robert C. and Loretta L. (Carson) Bruce in Baltimore. She graduated from Southern High School (Baltimore) in 1946. She married the love of her life the late Norman I. Beard on June 21, 1947. Nancy was a devoted home maker. Her greatest joy came from taking care of her family. She was a member of the Ladies of the Elks. She enjoyed reading, her iPad, bingo, scrabble, crafts, and being with her friends at Morningside House of Friendship where she has lived the past three years. She will be remembered by her family for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; and daughter, Jane Ann Del Pizzo. She is survived by her children, Linda Smith and her husband, Mike Smith, Nancy Kirby and her husband, Jim Kirby; her grandchildren, Kimberly Newhouse, Nicole Drum, Angela Quinn and Alicia Del Pizzo; and her great-grandchildren, Rinay, Devin, Gabrielle, Josh, Hannah, Iris, RJ and Jack.

The family will receive visitors at the family owned Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Highway) Glen Burnie on Thurs., Dec. 27 from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Fri., Dec. 28th, 1 PM, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Park.
