Adrun Wright Sr

Adrun Eugene "Gene" Wright, Sr., 84, of Glen Burnie passed away at his residence on June 24, 2017. Gene was born in Leesburg, VA on June 22, 1933 to the late Charles Hillary and Ethyl (Breeden) Wright. At an early age he moved to Baltimore and then to Glen Burnie. He married Patty Gilkerson on July 17, 1954 in Baltimore this union produced four children. After Gene and Patty's divorce he met his longtime companion the late Doris Sansing. He enjoyed camping, canoeing, dancing, singing, and listening to music. Most of all he loved being a father and great provider and protector for his family. He created many memories with his family that they will cherish for generations to come. Gene was a hard worker and retired from Baltimore Tank Lines. He also served his country as a member of the National Guard.
He is survived by his loving children, Sara Harpster (Richard), Adrun Wright, Jr. (Mylinda), Mary Murphy (Bobby), Allan Wright (Gail); 13 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; siblings, Peach, Louise, and Jo. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 6 siblings.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave, SW, (at Crain Hwy), Glen Burnie, on Thursday, June 29, from 3 to 5 PM and 7 to 9 PM for a Visitation. A Celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 30, 11AM, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Meadowridge Memorial Park.
