In loving memory of Albert Franklin Bowers, who passed away on April 12, 2024, in Severn, Maryland. Albert was born on June 30, 1939, in Baltimore, Maryland, to his beloved parents Henrietta (Etta) and Vernon Bowers. He is now reunited with them in eternal peace, along with his brother, Kenneth Coons.
Albert led a remarkable life filled with dedication and passion for his work. A distinguished career as the Chief Electrical Engineer for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers defined his professional journey. Even after retirement, Albert continued to share his expertise as a consultant for the Corps, leaving a lasting impact on all those he worked with.
Albert's love for learning was evident in his educational achievements. He proudly graduated from the Poly A Course at Baltimore Polytechnic Institute in 1957, and went on to earn a degree in Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Albert was a man of diverse interests and hobbies. From solving crossword puzzles and sudoku, to delving into genealogy, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life. An avid sports enthusiast, Albert could often be found cheering on the MD Terps basketball team and the Ravens. He also enjoyed bowling and shooting pool, as well as watching Universal monster movies. His love for history shone through his fascination with Civil War narratives and British history.
Those who knew Albert can attest to his kindness, intelligence, and generosity touched the lives of many. His warm presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Albert is survived by his devoted wife, Dianne C. Bowers; loving daughter, Lynn B. Rego; cherished granddaughter, Olivia Rego; dear son-in-law, Ron Rego; caring nephew, Andrew Coons; supportive sister-in-law, Lois Coons; as well as extended family and friends who mourn his loss.

A Celebration of Life service will take place on April 19th at 1:00 PM, in the funeral home chapel, followed by procession to and interment at Loudon Park Cemetery in Catonsville.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution in Albert’s name to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org and/or Hospice of the Chesapeake at www.hospicechesapeake.org
