Albert Joseph Bartlinski Sr, (Ab), 88, of Severn, passed away on December 11, 2020. He served in the Marine Corps. during the Korean War, landing at Inchon at and fighting in the Battle of Chosin Reservoir. Ab graduated from the University of Baltimore, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in management. He retired from the State Health Department, Division of Air Quality after many years of service. He had such a passion for teaching karate that in 1971, he and his son opened AJ Bartlinski’s Karate Super Center. Al’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Evelyn; siblings, Theresa Dexter, Joseph and Gene Bartlinski; and his parents, Joseph and Clara Bartlinski. Ab is survived by his loving children, Albert J. Bartlinski Jr. and his wife, Mary, Debbie Bartlinski Golden and her husband, Clifton and Jo Anne Bartlinski Henry; seven devoted grandchildren; and 12 cherished great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy), on Weds., Dec. 16th, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thurs., 11 AM, at St. Clement Church in Halethorpe. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are only allowing 40 people inside the funeral home at one time and requiring masks for all visitors. We kindly ask that you please keep your visit brief, as there may be people waiting to enter the funeral home.
