Alexander “Bernie” Graboski, 96, beloved husband to the late Eldora “Boots” Graboski, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2025, surrounded by family members.

Bernie was born on April 10, 1928, to the late Marie and Alexander Graboski and grew up in his home on Fort Smallwood Road. He was an altar server and attended Glen Burnie High School before briefly joining the Navy. After his service, Bernie worked as a truck driver before becoming a police officer in Anne Arundel County, where he retired in 1981.

He was a devoted member of Holy Trinity Church, then Crucifixion, where he served as an usher, and finally Christ the King Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, McGivney Council and The Fraternal Order of Police. Bernie enjoyed spending time traveling, cruising, as well as attending concerts, live theater, the BSO, and movies. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren will tell you about the countless performances, matches, and games he attended, his infectious laugh, as well as his love of donuts and lifesavers. Bernie was an avid reader of detective mysteries and enjoyed watching western movies and police series on television. In his later years, Bernie often watched the birds outside his window, at the bird feeders in his yard. As a child he had dogs and often shared stories about his beloved Duffy. He also cherished the dogs, horses, and cats owned by his daughters and grandchildren.

Bernie was preceded in death by his brother Bobby. He is survived by his loving daughters, Pam Graboski Beidle (Len) and Andrea Zamora (Ernie); his cherished grandchildren, Nick (Meghan), Nate (Heather), Lyndsey (Gary), Kassie, Karlie, and Kara; adored great-grandchildren, Aurora, Zachary, Madalyn, Paxton, Kalilah, Hadley, and Quinn; his sister, Katherine Hart; long-time companion, Patricia Schrieber; and his friends and caregivers, Franny, June, Linda and Sunday.
