Alice Gertrude Truffer

Alice G. Truffer, 98, of Essex, formerly of Glen Burnie, passed away peacefully at her home on April 15, 2025. She was born in Baltimore to the late James Richard and Alice Frederick Loane.

Alice cherished the time she spent with her family, whether it was gathered around a table or enjoying the sun at the beach. Her passion for travel carried her to many beautiful destinations, including the stunning shores of Hawaii and the picturesque landscapes of the Mediterranean. She also delighted in the simple pleasures of life, one of which was playing BINGO.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bernard “Bernie” A. Truffer; grandson, Brendan; and her siblings, Helen T. Cavey, Michael Loane and James Loane.

Alice is survived by her devoted children, Alice H. Hofmeister and her husband, Carroll, Bernard “Bernie” J. Truffer and his wife, Jacqueline, Keith R. Truffer and his wife, Beth, Carol A. Marsiglia and her husband, Michael, Kevin M. Truffer and his wife, Melody. She found immense joy in her grandchildren, Dana, Carol, Brian, Patty, Michael, Christopher, Thomas, Mark, Matthew, Jonathan and Marissa, whom she adored. Additionally, she took great pride in her great-grandchildren, C.J., Connor, Meghan, Ryan, Katy, Joseph, Madison, Lillian, Amarice, Alyssa, Jonathan, Shiloh, Calvin, Cooper, Bennett, Brendan, Evelyn, Charles and Austin. She will also be missed by her adored great-great-grandchildren, Bixby Rae and River; dear brother, Francis “Butch” Loane and his wife, Norma; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, PA, Glen Burnie, on Weds., April 23rd, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, 10 AM, at Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Meadowridge Memorial Park.
