On Saturday, November 21, 2020, Alma Estelle Focht of Glen Burnie peacefully went to be with our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ. Her faith in Jesus Christ has always been unwavering even during her physical and mental challenges over the last 5 years having suffered through breast cancer, macular degeneration that lead to her blindness, and dementia that eventually took her life.
Alma worked for many years at the family business of Peoples’ Service Laundry and Cleaners in Baltimore City that had grown to become the preeminent laundry service provider in the mid Atlantic region. Later she thoroughly enjoyed working as a supervisor at the Motor Vehicle Administration in Glen Burnie where she subsequently retired from.
Alma is survived by her son, Michael J. Focht, his wife, Rosi Focht, grandchildren Heather, Christopher, Danielle and Mikie, & great-grandchildren Adeline, Preston and Marco. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Parrish and Georgia Parrish (Slater), her husband, Carroll J. Focht, and her 2 brothers, Stanley Parrish and Robert Parrish.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Tuesday, December 1st from 11am – noon with a brief private memorial service following and then burial at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville.
