On September 24, 2007, Andrew Timothy "Drew" Mahr lost his courageous life-long battle with a liver disorder. Beloved son of Tim and Paige Mahr; Loving twin brother of Roderick H. "Rod" Mahr Jr.; Cherished grandson of Aldine Mahr, Pat Barnhouse, Franklin Barnhouse and his wife Shirley and the late Ernest R. Mahr. Andrew is also survived by many loving family members and friends. Andrew attended Marley Elementary School. He enjoyed playing in the woods with his brother. Andrew also liked watching TV, especially cartoons - waking up at 6 AM just to watch the Power Rangers (and drink all the juice boxes!). He enjoyed reading and would also write notes which he would seal in an envelope and give to certain people. Andrew enjoyed his scooter and listening to his favorite CD by the Rascal Flatts. He liked motorcycles and would always want to go everywhere with his mom. When in the hospital, Andrew enjoyed his favorite meal of noodles and gravy and would also jokingly shoot his nurses with his water gun - when he wasn't riding the Big Wheel down the hallways. Even in the midst of his illness, Andrew had an amazing capacity for compassion as he would often console the other sick children and give them his stuffed animals. He was described as an "old soul" who showed an extraordinary amount of compassion and love for such a young man. He loved to make other people smile. Andrew was truly an "angel on this earth".
