On July 27, 2024, the world bid farewell to a remarkable soul, Andrew Michael Curley, fondly known to many as a pillar of strength and kindness.  He peacefully departed this earthly realm at Harbor Hospital at the age of 74.  Born in Glen Burnie, Maryland, to the late Jennie Dicus and Joseph Curley, Andrew's journey was one woven with threads of valor and warmth.

A proud veteran who served with honor in the United States Army, rising to the esteemed rank of SP4, Andrew's dedication knew no bounds.  Transitioning from military service, he found his calling as a skilled welder at Fort Meade, where his craftsmanship shone brightly.

Within the community, Andrew's presence was deeply felt as a dedicated member of the American Legion Post 276.  Holding roles such as Commander and Financial Officer, he embodied the values of service and camaraderie.  Beyond his professional and civic life, Andrew was a culinary maestro whose delights brought joy to all fortunate enough to savor them.  His passion for cooking was matched only by his love for his cherished pugs, Thor and Ares, and late Daisy and Apollo, and the simple pleasures of family gatherings in Texas and Florida.

Imbued with a generous spirit, Andrew found solace in the nostalgia of old show reruns and the timeless melodies of classic country tunes.  A staunch advocate for veterans' causes, he tirelessly supported those who had served their country alongside him.

Andrew leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, cherished by his children, William Curley, Elizabeth Curley, and Kelley Patrick, and husband Brian; his adored grandchildren, Sean, Serenity, and Levi Patrick; his beloved siblings, William Dicus, Rose Reber, Katherine Westerfield, and Karen Dicus; as well as his dear friend Carol Van Pelt.  Surrounded by an abundance of extended family and friends who held him dear, Andrew now joins in eternal peace with his dear brother, Joseph Curley III, embracing him once more in heavenly reunion.

Family and friends are encouraged to gather at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services on 1 2nd Avenue S.W., Glen Burnie, MD 21061, on August 5, 2024, from 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm to honor Andrew's memory.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held on August 6, 2024, in the funeral home chapel. The journey will culminate at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville where Andrew will find his final rest among fellow heroes.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to pay tribute to Andrew's legacy may make donations in his name to Vietnam Veterans of America via https://vva.org/donate/.  As we reflect on a life lived with purpose and love beyond measure, let us carry forward Andrew's memory with grace and gratitude for having known such an extraordinary soul among us.
