Ann Sparkman

Ann Kathryn Sparkman, 73, of Glen Burnie, passed away on February 20, 2023. She was born in Brooklyn Park, MD to the late Bernard Paul and Anna Margaret Walter. She was employed with the State of Maryland, retiring after 30 years of service. Ann was the president of the Anne Arundel County Youth Cheerleading Association, including serving as the commissioner for the Andover Apaches Cheerleading Program for many years. Ann enjoyed playing softball, working with kids and shopping. Above all else, Ann truly loved to support all of those around her, especially her daughter Jennifer throughout her career in teaching and coaching. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bernie Walter.

Ann is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Roy L. Sparkman; loving daughter, Jennifer Sparkman; and her dear sister, Ellen Morlock.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Tuesday, February 28th, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, 12:30 PM, in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville.
