Anna Mercer

On June 1, 2023, Anna rose and soared on eagle’s wings to our heavenly Father; she was 90 years old. She passed from this earthly life peacefully from her Severn residence with her faithful daughter, Patty, and granddaughter, Rebecca, at her side. She was born on November 13, 1932 in Punxsutawney, PA. Anna was preceded in death by her loving husband of 38 years, Herbert Harvey Mercer; daughters, Debra Jean Shoe and Terri Ann Gonzalez; son-in-law, Karl Michael Crouse; and grandchildren, Angela Michelle Shook and Jacob Henry Crouse.

Anna is survived by her children, Patricia Lynn Crouse, of Severn, Sharon Ann Scalio and husband, Jim, of Greenwood, DE, Glenn Harvey Mercer and wife, Kelly, of Stewart, PA, Bonnie Lou Mercer of Severn; and son-in-law, Arturo Gonzalez. She was the devoted MeMaw of Karla Michelle Steinbach, husband, Mike, and twin sons, Austin and Aiden, of Pasadena, Rebecca Louise Crouse and son, Owen Hunter Crouse, of Pasadena, Marisol Terese Gartrell (partner of the late Jacob Henry Crouse) and her twin daughters, Aubreigh and Kalissa, of Severn, Daniel Clark Morsberger of Glen Burnie, Alicia Debra Wilson and husband, Jeff, of Greenwood, DE, Veronica (Elhabi) Gonzalez and her daughters, Layla and Nora. There are many more children and grandchildren that will miss her.

For over 56 years, she was a longstanding member of Grace Pointe Community Church of the Nazarene, formerly known as Marley Park Church of the Nazarene. Anna worked as a cost analysist for 26 years at Westinghouse Corporation. She enjoyed being a greeter at church and was a true prayer warrior. She also loved spending time with her family and traveling.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Avenue, S.W. (at Crain Hwy), in Glen Burnie, on Monday, June 12th, from 2 - 4 and 6 -8 PM.  A Celebration of Life service, officiated by Pastor Philip Bolerjack, will be held on Tuesday, 1 PM, in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Meadowridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Anna’s name may be made to Grace Pointe Community Church of the Nazarene, 61 Gambrills Road, Severn, MD 21144.
