Antonio "Tony" Machlinski

September 14, 1955 — May 29, 2024

Antonio "Tony" Machlinski, a skilled rigger at Maryland Ship Building & Drydock and later a dedicated painter for C&H Contracting, peacefully passed away on May 29, 2024, at Johns Hopkins Hospital.  Born on September 14, 1955, in Baltimore, Maryland, he is the beloved son of the late Naomi and Joseph Machlinski.

His commitment and passion shone through his work over the years.  Outside of work, he found solace in the simple joy’s life had to offer.  Whether vacationing to Ocean City and Wildwood, New Jersey with his family or indulging in his hobbies like savoring steamed crabs, playing pool, or watching his beloved Western movies, Tony's spirit exuded warmth.

Tony's love for music and dance was evident to all who knew him.  An enthusiastic fan of the Ravens and Orioles, his playlist often featured Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, and Johnny Mathis.  Beyond his interests and accomplishments lay a man devoted to his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, the late Joseph Paul Machlinski, Sr. and Naomi Elizabeth (Sarro) Machlinski, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Joseph Paul Machlinski Jr. and Alisa Marie Catramados; nephew, Joseph Patrick Machlinski; aunt, Margaret Mazurek; uncle Mark Sarro; and grandparents, Naomi and Nick Sarro.

Tony leaves behind cherished memories with his dear brother, Nicholas Machlinski; uncle John Sarro Sr.; nieces Angelina Blumenberg, Gina Machlinski and Jovanna Catramados; nephews, Demetrius Catramados and Keith Wilder; cousins, Jennie Weaver, Roberto Mazurek (Peggy), Dario Mazurek (Janet), Martina Harrison (James), John Sarro Jr. (Kristy), Vincent Sarro and Dominick Sarro (Melissa); great-nephews, Scott Gruver and Anthony Askew; brother-in-law, Vic Catramados; former wife, Linda McNamara; along with many other relatives and friends who were touched by his kindness.

Tony's life will be honored and celebrated during two significant events.  The visitation will take place on June 4, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services in Glen Burnie.  Subsequently, a Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on June 5, 2024, starting at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park.

Antonio "Tony" Machlinski's love for family and zest for life will linger on as a poignant memory in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.  May he find eternal peace knowing that he was deeply loved and will be genuinely missed by all whose lives he touched.
