Arnold W. Hepler of Glen Burnie, MD passed away at the VA Medical Center in Baltimore on December 14, 2006 from a brief illness. He was the loving father to Fran Cavill and her husband Bill, Don Hepler and his girlfriend Joyce Watts; caring brother to Dorothy Roberson and Ruby Humphrey; devoted grandfather to Stephanie and Ryan Cavill.
Mr. Hepler was enlisted in the Army Air Corps from 1942~1945 in which he was the Gunner and Radio Operator aboard the B24 Bomber. From May~November of 1944, he was a Prisoner Of War. He was honorably discharged in 1945 with decorations such as the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater ribbon with 1 silver star, Air Medal with 2 bronze clusters and a good conduct medal. After finishing his military career, he attended the DeVry Institute in Chicago, focusing on electronics, which led him to becom a developer in the aerospace division at Westinghouse, in which he retired after 36 years. Upon retirement, he enjoyed 21 years of just that...being retired. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, hunting and radio controlled airplanes, but most of all, enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed.
