Barbara Sabur

Barbara J. Sabur (nee Atwood), 66, a 53 year resident of Glen Burnie, MD, passed away on May 2, 2015 at home surrounded by her family.
Barbara grew up traveling the world with her father, mother and older sister during her father's service in the United States Navy. She graduated from Glen Burnie High School (class of 1966) and began her career working for the Department of Defense. She went on to earn an associates degree from Anne Arundel Community College and continued to work at various corporations in support of the Defense Department. She loved to read, travel and spend time with her family and friends. She was active in the community for many years, serving on the board of the Glen Burnie Improvement Association and as a volunteer with FEMA's Community Emergency Response Program.
Barbara is preceded in death by her loving husband, Alexander F. Sabur Sr., her father, Rex P. Atwood Sr., her mother, Alice (Robidoux) Atwood and her granddaughter Abigail Vice. She is survived by her sons, Michael Vice and his wife Julie, Alexander Sabur Jr. and his wife Jackie, daughter, Jacqueline Sabur, stepdaughter, Sherri Ousey and her husband Graham, sister, Sharon (Atwood) Batterson, brother, Rex P. Atwood Jr. and his wife Cindy and granddaughter Elaine Vice.
The family also wishes to extend their gratitude to all of the nurses, doctors and staff at the Tate Cancer Center in Glen Burnie, MD.
