Bartow Wooden, Jr

On April 5, 2007, Bartow Ward Wooden, Jr. passed away. Bartow was a man who was dearly loved by his family which includes his late wife, Essie Mae Wooden, to whom he was married for over 45 years; his loving daughters, Cheryl Ann Wooden, Evelyn Elaine Wooden, Cecilia Yvonne Harris-Lemmon, Valeria Jean Washington and Glenda Estelle Wooden; his dear sons, Bartow Ward III, Paul Daryl, Steven Cornell, Phillip Ryan, Louis LeSears and Glen Evan Wooden; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his brothers, Major, Albert and James Wooden; and his sister, Isabelle Yvonne Bradley. He was preceded in death by his dear son, David Michael Wooden; his dear grandson, Darnell Harris; his dear brothers, Aaron, Melvin and Joe Wooden; his dear sister, Nanny Ruth Leslie; and his dear parents, Iola and Bartow Ward Wooden, Sr. Bartow was born in Florida in 1928. He lived in Maryland for many years. He graduated from Howard University in Washington, D.C. where he earned a Degree in Zoology. For many years, he was self-employed in the courier service. He was a member of the Rock City Church in Towson. Bartow enjoyed many hobbies, especially eating, talking and walking. Bartow will be missed by many people.
