Bernadine Hildebrand

September 18, 1926 — November 6, 2013

Bernadine Kepper Hildebrand, September 18, 1926

Dean had a good long, happy, and fruitful life, in the short time we have here this morning we can barely scratch the surface for our tribute to her.
Dean was the 8th of 9 children born to her parents Sadie & Bernard. Growing up during the depression of the 1930's in Baltimore was no bed of roses, and those hard times as a child help developed her strong moral character.
In 1945 Dean met Otto Hildebrand and they were married June 12, 1948. They had 4 children, Mark, Leslie, Keith and Drake. This past June, Dean and Otto celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
Dean didn't have expensive tastes or live a flashy lifestyle, but she knew what was important to her, and that was her family. Luxury, to her, was having her children and their families around for the holidays and she always worried about if they were well cared for and she always made sure they had everything they needed.
She loved to sit or in most cases stand and clean her house with a cup of weak hot tea, while watching her favorite TV programs. A good western TV show or movie, her daily dose of Magnum PI, Perry Mason, and Murder she Wrote, were among her favorites.
One of her favorite pastimes was playing cards and board games with everybody, she loved yahtzee and when alone she often played solitaire while watching her TV shows.
She was very gifted in making crafts and loved to make things for her home and others, she also made a lot of her own clothes. One thing everyone always said was you could eat off the floors in her house, it was always spotless and everything was in its place.
Above all, Dean believed in family, faith and hard work, She always said "family is the most important thing in life".
Dean, thank you for being part of our lives. We are all going to miss you.
