Betty Cook

Betty Jane Cook, 81, of Glen Burnie, passed away at her home on July 4, 2017. She was born in Baltimore to the late Robert and Edith Suman and graduated from Southern High School in 1954. She worked at C&P Telephone Company as a switch board operator for seven years. Betty was a member of Glen Burnie Baptist Church, American Legion Post 071 and Ventnor Yacht Club. She enjoyed traveling, boating, shopping and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Jay E. Cook; and her five siblings.
Betty is survived by her loving children, Cindy Humphrey (Ray), Rita Cook and Brian Cook (Melissa); and cherished grandchildren, Ian and Evan Humphrey, Corey and Brianna Cook.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave, S.W. (at Crain Hwy) in Glen Burnie on Monday, July 10th, from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, 10 AM, in the funeral home chapel. Interment Parkwood Cemetery.
