Betty Hidey

Betty L. Hidey, 86, of Gambrills passed away on October 10, 2015. Betty was born in 1928 in Maryland. She graduated from Glen Burnie High School, Class of 1945. Betty began working for the B&O Railroad at the young age of 16 and climbed the ladder of the Brotherhood of Railroad and Airline Clerk Union until retiring over 50 years later as the Finance Director of the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers. She was a lifelong member of Linthicum Heights United Methodist Church, a member of the Sigma Beta Phi sorority for 59 years, and a past president of the AARP Chapter that met at St. Christopher's in Linthicum. She is survived by three nieces, Becky Stephens, Doris Graziano and Joann Anderson; nephew, Gene May; and three great-nieces, Shawn Stephens, Jennifer Mollohan and Lorie Abernathy.
