Betty Mae Pumhprey, 65, a resident of Glen Burnie and formerly of Annapolis, passed away on January 28, 2016 at University of Maryland Medical Center. She was born in Baltimore on May 21, 1950 to the late Ilse and Linton B. Pumphrey. She retired from Anne Arundel County Public Works after 32 years of service. Betty was a longtime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her nieces and nephews, needlework, arts and crafts, traveling, playing cards and was a loving caregiver to her friends and especially to her mother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and David Pumphrey.
Betty is survived by her three siblings, Linda Senger, Mary Joyce and Linton "Fuzz" Pumphrey; 11 nieces and nephews; and four grand-nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 308 Oak manor Drive, Glen Burnie.
