Betty Vance

Betty Elaine Vance, 80, of Ferndale, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2021, at her home surrounded by loving family members.  Betty was born in Ferndale, Maryland, on October 4, 1940, to the late Dorothy and Charles Whiteford.  She was a dedicated homemaker and, along with her husband Wayne, were very active in the Linthicum Ferndale Youth Athletic Association when their children were younger. Betty was also a member of the Ferndale Garden Club.  She enjoyed gardening and cherished spending time with her family. She especially loved every minute of her role being Mommom to her grandchildren & great-grandchildren.

Betty was predeceased by her one and only true love, devoted husband Stuart Wayne Vance, Sr.  She is survived by her loving children, Stuart Wayne Vance Jr. and his wife Diane, Michael Wayne Vance, Lisa Elaine Haley and her husband Mike, and Glenn Kenneth Vance and his wife Amy; her cherished grandchildren, Kyle, Alyssa and her husband Gino, Nick and his wife Jessica, Brianna, Zach, Justin, and Allie; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Baby Pollock (arriving in May, 2021).  She is also survived by her brother, Charles Lawrence Whiteford and his wife Sharon.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, February 25th, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM.  A Celebration of Life Service will be Private.  Interment at St. John’s Cemetery in Ellicott City.
