Betty Cornell Young passed peacefully on Friday, July 23, 2021. She was born on May 7, 1934, in Baltimore City, Maryland, to the late James Argent Jackson and Mary Gertrude Jackson.
Betty attended schools in Anne Arundel County and was a graduate of Wiley H. Bates High School class of 1952. Betty enjoyed attending John Wesley UMC in Glen Burnie, singing in the church choir, and listening to gospel music. She traveled with her sisters throughout the United States and the Caribbean. In her leisure, she enjoyed dancing, collecting decorative elephants, shopping for the latest clothes and shoes, eating crabs, and reading the newspaper. Her best days were spent laughing and talking with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Carl A. Young, Sr.; two brothers, Argent Claymore Jackson, and Alfred S. Jackson; four sisters, Helen G. Brooks, Beulah I. Jackson-Fossett, Mae L. Hardy, and Viola Katherine Brooks.
