Beulah Edwards

Beulah Jeanette (Burley) Edwards quietly and peaceful entered her eternal rest on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Harbor Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

Beulah, the daughter of the late Armanella and Dory Burley, was born on October 12, 1927, in Hanover, Maryland, then known as Stoney Run. She received her education in Anne Arundel County Public Schools. Her religious training began at St. Marks Methodist Church in Hanover where she and her siblings attended with their mother.

Beulah was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Daniel Leon Edwards, Sr., and from this union four children were born, Pamela, Daniel (Leon) Jr., Katherine, and Thomas. Her daughter, Katherine, preceded her in death.

An excellent worker, she retired from Maryland State Motor Vehicle Administration after 20 years of service. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker. Her greatest joy was caring for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. Beulah enjoyed working in her yard, reading, baking cakes, and being around her family and sisters, “The Burley Girls”. She enjoyed the time she spent with her family during the backyard cookouts and holiday celebrations.  Beulah also enjoyed a good hot cup of tea and she loved to listen to music.  She was a loving and kind woman who had a listening ear for her extended family and friends.

Beulah leaves to cherish her memory a devoted daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and George Phillips, sons Daniel L. Edwards, Jr. and Thomas J. Edwards, grandchildren, Jackie Phillips and George Phillips, Jr., great-grandson, Mikal Doles, and a hosts of nieces, nephews, and friends.
