Bill Gorton

Alonzo "Bill" Gorton, 88, a resident of Columbia, passed away on April 10, 2013. Bill was born on May 24, 1924 in Baltimore, MD to the late Bertha and Alonzo Gorton. He was the founder of U-Neek Display (Expo) and was a member of Severna Park United Methodist Church & Choir, the Moose Lodge and the International Ventriloquist Association. Bill enjoyed singing and dancing, Big Band music, traveling, an avid Orioles fan and ventriloquist. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Gerta; two children, John Gorton and wife Linda and Nancy Crabtree; grandchildren, Jeffrey Sampsell and wife Lesley and Kara Forward and husband Chip; and great-grandchildren, Lea, Elizabeth, Phoebe, Andrew and Katharine. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Severna Park United Methodist Church, 713 Benfield Road; Severna Park, MD 21146.
