Bonnie Lynn Novesl

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bonnie Lynn Novesl (nee Bass), 82, on February 15, 2025. She was born in Baltimore to the late Gilbert Jack and Evelyn E. (Miersch) Bass. A proud alumna of Glen Burnie High School, class of 1960, Bonnie dedicated a significant part of her life to the University of Maryland, retiring after many years of service. After retirement, she and her husband, Frank, embraced a peaceful life in Pennsylvania.

Bonnie loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She created countless memories at Ocean City, visiting her grandson, Mike, taking walks on the boardwalk and savoring the iconic Thrashers Fries. She also enjoyed taking her granddaughter, Kristin, to see theater shows and Disney on Ice. Her annual visits to Sunfest with her lifelong friend, Carol Hundley, brought her happiness, marking a tradition they both adored.

Bonnie was passionate about food, particularly seafood- her heart belonged to Maryland steamed crabs but she also found delight in savoring the richness of lobster and oysters. Other hobbies included: ceramics, baking cakes and rescuing cats, she loved her kitties. Bonnie was a person who loved deeply and forgave readily. The impact of her generous spirit and loving heart will forever remain in our hearts.

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Edna and Charles Miersch; and her brother, Jack Bass. 

Bonnie is survived by her beloved husband, Frank M. Novesl Jr.; loving daughter, Lisa M. Davies (Bill); cherished grandchildren, Mike Hoey Jr. (Abbey), Derek S. Hoey and Kristin N. Hoey (Larry); and her adored great-grandchildren, Zachery M. Hoey, Dominic S. Hoey, MJ (Lambchop) Johnson and Colton J. Hoey. 

Visitation will be held at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, PA, on Saturday, Feb. 22nd, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM. A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held on Sunday, 3 PM, in the funeral home chapel.
