Bridget Firko (nee Murphy), 97, of Glen Burnie, passed away at home on April 21, 2018. She was born in the little town of Ennis, County Clare, Ireland on March 16, 1921. She worked in Dublin for a number of years before moving to London, England, where she met John Firko, a U.S. Air Force enlisted man and World War II veteran. They were married in 1959 and travelled the world together. After John retired from active duty in 1973, they resided in Bergen County, New Jersey until 1998 when they moved to Glen Burnie, Maryland. Bridget was active at Holy Trinity Catholic Church and was a volunteer with Partners In Care for many years. She loved cooking, baking, gardening and laughing. Bridget is survived by her husband, John; son, Steve Firko and daughter-in-law, Donna Gulick.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Wednesday, April 25th, from 6-9 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, 10 AM, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, New Jersey.
