Calvin “Hyns” Hynson, Jr., 82 of Glen Burnie passed away on October 17, 2022. Calvin was born on October 23, 1939 in Baltimore to the late Elmer C. and Bertha E. Hynson. He served in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1961. He retired from BGE after 40 years of service. Hyns was a former member of the Cin-Go-Ti Club of Baltimore, serving in many different capacities on the Board of Directors. He also enjoyed sports, the Ravens and Orioles, DIY and carpentry, he enjoyed music, his 45 records and DJing for family events.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Estelle M. Hynson; and his son, Richard J. Hynson. He is survived by his children, Steven C. Hynson, David M. Hynson (Patricia), Angela M. Wilhelm (Martin), John A. Hynson (Darla), Nicholas P. Hynson (Che) and Anthony M. Hynson (Kate); his daughter-in-law, Suzanne Bartley; his grandchildren, Chase, Carly, Ryan, Shelby, Summer, Gracelynn, Scott, Anna, Jaiden, McKenzie, Vinny and Brody; his great-grandchildren, Cali, Chase Jr. and Berkley; his siblings, Betty Sheffield, Dorothy Hall, Patricia Collins, Raymond Hynson, Howard Hynson and Darlene Ryer.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Friday, October 21st from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 22nd at 10:30 AM in the funeral home chapel.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, the Wounded Warrior Project, or The Wellness House of Annapolis.
