Cecelia Thomas "Tommie"

Cecelia T. Thomas “Tommie”, 96, of Glen Burnie passed away on December 2, 2020. Cecelia was born on November 6, 1924 in North Braddock, Pennsylvania to the late August and Anna Tokar. Cecelia graduated high school and earned her 3 year nursing certificate and became a registered nurse. She spent 22 years of her nursing career at North Arundel Hospital, where she earned the proud position of head nurse in the operating room, she was a member of AORN, Association of Operating Room Nurses. Cecelia also was a devoted member to Holy Trinity Catholic Church, and was in the Sodality. Cecelia had a love for dogs and cats, she enjoyed listening to classical music and was a fan of the Baltimore Ravens and Orioles. Cecelia loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchild.  Cecelia is survived by her sons, David J. Thomas (Kathy), Larry J. Thomas (Mary) daughters, Kathy A. Teitler (Michael), Barb Archer, her grandsons, Brian, Nicholas (Deanna), Matt (Nicki), Alex and Adam, granddaughter Rachel, and her great-granddaughter Brynlee, along with many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 44 years, John L. Thomas, along with several of her brothers and sisters.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Celebration Center at 206 Crain Highway South, Glen Burnie, MD. 21061 (located next to the funeral home) on Tuesday, December 8th, from 3-4:30PM and a rosary service will be held at 4:30PM. A Funeral Mass service will be Private due to COVID restrictions.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church, and or Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are only allowing 40 people inside the celebration center at one time and requiring masks for all visitors.  We kindly ask that you please keep your visit brief, as there may be people waiting to enter the celebration center.
