Charles Brown Jr

October 20, 1934 — June 23, 2017

On Friday, June 23, 2017 the Brown family lost their beloved Father, Poppy, Hero, Provider, and most of all their Advocate, Charles Eugene Brown, Jr. Mr. Brown was born in Ottumwa, Iowa to the late Charles Eugene and Eloise (Fitzsimmons) Brown. He attended school in Iowa and after High School he attended Parsons College. He married the love of his life Shirley Ann (Neal) Brown on September 26, 1953. He not only married his life partner but he took her Catholic faith to heart and remained a Devout Catholic the rest of his life and was an active member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. In 1961 Charlie and his wife visited Maryland with their four small children and made it their home the next 56 years. Charlie was a hard worker and often had two or three jobs to provide for his family. When he moved to Maryland his first job was working at Zimmermann's Shoe Store, and in 1981 he became the owner of the specialty Orthopedic Shoe Store. Charlie did not only work hard but he and his wife taught the value and importance of hard work through speech and example to their children as well. He had a great love for the Ravens, Orioles, golf and horses. Above all he loved his family and spending time with them especially their sporting events. He was able to attend his granddaughter's softball game the Tuesday before he passed.

He is survived by five loving children and their spouses, Lori Fisher (Eric), Toni Day (Martin), Tracie Jamieson (Jeff), Jeffery Brown and Sean Brown; cherished grandchildren and their spouses, Meghan (Ross), Justin, Jacquelyn (Kelly), Caitlin (Cody), Nellie, Nora, Hallie, Jake and Sydney; devoted great-grandchildren, Grace, Emma and Evan; his siblings, Becky Coyne, David and Richard Brown; and his brother-in-law, Hal Neal Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Shirley Ann Brown; his daughter, Lisa Kae Brown; siblings, Beverly and Steve Brown.
