On October 18, 2015, Charles Benjamin Davis of Gambrills passed away at University of Maryland Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland on January 6, 1924 to the late Charles Edward and Mary Catherine Davis.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Elizabeth Pruett, Frances Von Kennen, Lucy David, and great grandson Michael Norby.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Dolores Davis, their children Dolly Ann Hall, Charles Davis Jr. and his wife Amy, John Davis and his wife Christine; his grandchildren Vicki Massey, Missy Kerns (Scott), Katie Davis, Kristopher Davis (Christina), Jennifer Cook (Victor), Peggy Davis, Megan Davis, and John Davis Jr. (Chrissy), and his 10 cherished great-grandchildren.
Charles honorably served our country in the Army from 1943-1946.
He retired from C. B. Davis and Son Building Contractors in 1989.
Charles enjoyed his retirement in Vero Beach, FL.
He worshipped at Severna Park United Methodist Church. Throughout his life he enjoyed volunteering for Kiwanis, Meals on Wheels, Salvation Army, Glen Burnie Improvement Association, and many church activities. He facilitated the naming of Corkran Middle School.
