Charles Dixon

Charles Herman Dixon, 97, of Linthicum passed away surrounded by family at his residence on Sept. 16, 2017.
Charles was born on June 5, 1920 in Baltimore to the late Charles Herman, Sr. and Louisa B. (Schlaich) Dixon. Charles was selected to join the Army and served during WW2 in the European Theater. He married a beautiful young lady from his neighborhood Cecelia "Molly" Neville in 1946, their union lasted 49 years before her passing in 1995. Charles was a strong man and had a strong will to go on even after his wife passed he continued enjoying life and spending time with his beloved family. He was a mechanic with Reed's Refrigeration Service for 33 years, where he shared many of his mechanical skills with family members. Charles was a member of the American Legion Post # 109 and was also a member of the local McDonalds Morning Coffee Group. Charles enjoyed keeping up with the Orioles, wood working and playing golf.
Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife Cecelia "Molly" Dixon, and his parents.
Charles is survived by his children, Celia A. Dixon, and Charles A. Dixon; grandchildren, Jennifer E., Charles C. and Julie N. Dixon; his sister, Catherine A. Rupp; and nephews Melvin and Charles Rupp.
The family will receive visitors at the family owned Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave SW (at Crain Hwy) Glen Burnie on Thursday, Sept. 21 from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, Sept. 22, 1 PM, in the funeral home chapel. Interment Meadowridge Memorial Park. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake or Wounded Warrior Project.
