Charles Gender

Charles A. Gender, 86, of Glen Burnie, passed away on February 15, 2018. He was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA to the late William and Mary Gender. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy from 1951-1955. He retired from the Anne Arundel County Public School system after many years of service. Charles was a member of AARSPA and MD State Retired Teachers Association. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, gardening, camping, walking, listening to Classical music, playing cards and crossword puzzles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William and James Gender.
Charles is survived by his beloved wife, Janet; devoted children, Paul Gender and his wife, Linda, Lynn Hause and her husband, Eric, Charles Gender and his wife, Nada; cherished grandchildren, Ashleigh Cadwallader (Ryan), Erin Walker (Joseph), Kelly Gender (Daulton Hatcher), Stephanie Hause, Jason Gender and Jordan Gender; loving great-grandchildren, Violet and Wyatt Walker and Ruby Cadwallader; and his dear sister, Kathleen Gender.
Visitation will be held at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, Glen Burnie, on Tuesday, Feb. 20th, from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, 10 AM, in the funeral home chapel. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Dementia Society of America, PO Box 600; Doylestown, PA 18901.
