Charles W. Watkins

Charles W. Watkins, 81, passed away on August 18, 2023 after battling a short illness. Charles was born on September 21, 1941 in Richlands, VA to the late Donald Parkis Watkins, Sr. and Lyola (nee Wyatt) Watkins. He was raised in Quinnimont, WV. Charles served four years in the U.S. Air Force before working at the Department of Defense for 29 years, retiring in 1993. Charles enjoyed fishing, watching his Orioles & Ravens games along with NASCAR. He loved traveling the country going to dirt tracks watching late model racing with family and friends. Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Louise Watkins. He is survived by his daughter, Jill Gustafson (Karl), and his son, Christopher Watkins (Yvonne), his brother, Donald P. Watkins, Jr., three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2^nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Thursday, Aug. 24, 2023 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Aug. 25, 2023 at 10 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Glen Haven Mem. Park.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to your local food bank, St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Shriners Hospital.
