Charles Edward Young, 92, of Linthicum passed away on September 7, 2016. He was born on January 30, 1924 in Baltimore. He served in the US Marine Corps during WWII. Charles was a machinist foreman for the B&O Railroad for 44 years. He raised and flew homing pigeons and was a member of The American Racing Pigeon Union. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, John and Carrie Young; brothers, John and Raymond Young; sisters, Catherine Neuman and Dorothy Santerre; and son-in-law, Douglas Paul Jarosinski.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Mary Young (nee Hunter); his daughters, Cheryl Shewbridge (Bill), and Donna Marie Jarosinski of Millersville; his grandchildren, Ian Shewbridge (Lauren), Shane Shewbridge, Kelsi Shewbridge and Douglas Paul Jarosinski, Jr. He is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Thursday, Sept. 15th from 3-5 & 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 10 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment Meadowridge Mem. Park.
